Front cover and magazine features

I’ve been working with TGO magazine for well over 10 years now. I’ve had a couple of good months with a front cover on the June addition and a great photo-essay on classic Via Ferrata in the Italian Dolomites in the May edition.

New books for 2010

publishing
I have two new books just finished, which will be published later this year to go with the “Cumbria” title already on sale. The cumbrian Coast and The Lancashire Coast are sister titles that explore England’s North West coastal region from the Solway Firth to the Dee Estuary. Published by Halsgrove, they feature photography produced to explore and illustrate the diversity of landscapes, seascapes, places and activities along our coastline and to highlight some of the most beautiful and also the most interesting places, which are not always the same thing. Look out for these titles on sale later this year from Halsgrove or visit the publishers website to view/buy direct by clicking HERE.

Also coming out this year, just in time for 2010’s Cowes Week sailing regatta, is my book documenting the 2009 Cowes Week event, filled with images of in-shore sailing and on-shore atmosphere from this icon of sporting events. Again, published by Halsgrove it will be available in August.

Events & Workshops
The Keswick Mountain Festival has now been and gone and what a great weekend of events and weather!
I organised a series of photography workshops at this years event which included an introduction to outdoor photography for beginners, an enthusiasts outdoor photography workshop for those with a lot more knowledge (and kit) and a new addition to my workshops, Outdoor Sports and Action to teach some of skills needed to get great action photographs out there on the hill.
This summer’s outdoor photography workshops don’t stop there though. We have a whole bunch of great value short day workshops organised through the Friends of the Lake District’s Flora of the Fells program. Details of all the photography workshops available are on the Friends’ website at www.floraofthefells.com/whats-on/whats-on/eventlist and they are tremendous value at only £40 a session (that’s for a day-long workshop). Book now to guarantee a place.
